Ms. Sharon Grosman is the Founder & President of FSI. After initially working with KPMG, Ms. Grosman developed this niche out of substantial public accounting experience in the investment management industry. Sharon is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Accountant (CA).
Dennis E. MacPherson
Senior Vice President
Mr. Dennis MacPherson has diverse experience in investment fund operations. He began his career with TD Bank Financial Group supporting Greenline Investor Services (now TD Waterhouse Canada). Later, the TD third-party fund business was purchased by AGF Management Ltd., and Mr. MacPherson accepted the role of Director, Dealer Relations for Unisen Inc. (now owned by Citigroup).
Then, Mr. MacPherson returned to TD Bank to run the Client Transfer Services area, for all products and business lines of the Wealth Management Division. He then accepted a senior management role in Investment Fund Operations, where he was responsible for transaction processing for all TD brokerage and retail distribution channels, and all TD Mutual Funds products.
Mr. MacPherson was then recruited by Felcom Data Services Inc. as the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all day-to-day operations, budgeting, and staffing. There, he developed and grew the business to the point where it was targeted and acquired by CIBC Mellon. After ensuring an orderly transition of all Clients, staff and business processes, Mr. MacPherson made the decision to assume his current role at FSI.
Mr. MacPherson has been an industry leader in process improvement change as a Member or Chair of several Committees and Working Groups, and is currently an active Member of the FundSERV Standards Steering Committee (SSC). He has also participated in several high-profile speaking engagements, including: the annual IFIC (Investment Funds Institute of Canada) Conference, CCMA (Canadian Capital Markets Association) Information Sessions on Straight-Through Processing (STP), the IFIC Dealer Operations Forum, and most recently an “expert panel” discussion on Pooled Fund hosted by PMAC (Portfolio Managers Association of Canada).
Senior Vice President, Fund Valuations
Mr. Sathi Ananthan has experience in accounting beginning in 1995, and in the investment sector since 2000. During his career, Mr. Ananthan has spent time at KPMG, Integrated Accounting and Management Services (PTY) Ltd., Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Inc., and most recently at AIC Ltd. and Canada Life. Mr. Ananthan is a Passed Finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) (UK), and has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC). Mr. Ananthan has been with FSI since March 2004.
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Dan Jovicic has held senior technology roles with Canadian back office investment fund administrators since June 2005. During his career, Mr. Jovicic has spearheaded efforts in the development and delivery of advanced technology solutions for CIBC Mellon and Felcom Data Services. Since joining FSI in Dec 2011, Mr. Jovicic has been responsible for the development of the DIAMOND investment fund system, the principal business application system in use at FSI.
Mr. Jovicic is a Master of Science in Information Systems Management (MSc), an Information Systems Professional (ISP), and a member of the FundSERV Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
Chief People & Communications Officer
Andy Smith brings a wealth of experience in unitholder recordkeeping and transfer agency services dating back to 2000.
Andy’s career began at RBC Global Services providing administrative support to some of Canada’s largest mutual funds. He then moved to BNY Mellon Alternative Investment Services (Bermuda) where he spent seven years and became a vice-president. While at BNY Mellon, his department oversaw transfer agency services for offshore hedge funds with $125 billion in assets under administration. At BNY Mellon, Andy became an expert on alternative product offerings, series-based accounting, master-feeder structures and offshore regulatory compliance.
After returning to Canada in 2010, Andy joined SGGG-Fund Services Inc. In his roles here, Andy was focused on investor reporting, client communications, and meeting the needs of evolving industry requirements including FATCA, CRM2 and more. Today, Andy puts more focus on building relationships and knowledge across departments, with clients, and other stakeholders. He will continue the Human Resources initiatives he has started and will align some of our HR practices to deliver a consistently positive experience for SGGG-FSI’s employees.
Andy holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a post-graduate diploma in public relations from Ryerson University.
Vice President, Fund Valuations
Mr. Andrew Harding has experience in fund administration dating back to 2000. Mr. Harding’s career began at State Street Canada where he serviced various Canadian mutual fund clients. In 2008, he left his Senior Manager role at State Street Canada to join SGGG-FSI where he has helped manage a rapidly growing fund administration business. Today Mr. Harding leads SGGG FSI’s Fund Valuations Mutual Fund operations.
